Hurricane Katrina has caused LSU to cancel Monday's practice and the team will wait out the storm before resuming their efforts.

Coach Les Miles also cancelled this season's first press luncheon that was scheduled for Monday afternoon.   

LSU is scheduled to open the season this Saturday with a 7PM start against North Texas. 

The NCAA added one year to the University of South Carolina's self imposed two year probation.  Luckily for the Gamecocks, the NCAA did not impose any sanctions on post season or television appearances.

NCAA Infractions Committee Chair Josephine Potuto wrote the University earlier this month concurring that the University lead investigation was "thorough and complete."

In what should come as no surprise to the college football viewing public, the USC Trojans are the Preseason Number One in the AP Poll released this past Saturday. 

The Trojans received 60 out of a possible 65 first-place votes in the poll for 1619 total points and took the top spot for the fifth time in school history. 

Texas (1,500), Tennessee (1,376), Michigan (1,329), and LSU (1,291) round out the top five.  The remainder of the top 25 are as follows:
