After a poor showing last week, I decided not to let my dog make my picks anymore. We have some good games coming up this weekend that should be great to watch.
#2 Oklahoma VS South Florida Nate Hybl returns as the QB for the Sooners, with started Jason White out for the season with a torn ACL. Oklahoma looked strong against UTEP two weeks ago, pummeling them 68-0. With a week to prepare for South Florida, I expect another strong performance from the Sooners. South Florida does have a decent passing attack, but not enough to mount a serious challenge.

Football fans, here it is: the return of the much anticipated Big Ten weekly preview. Last week I received a lot of e-mails from angry Ohio State fans who disputed my prediction that Washington State would win a close game. I hereby offer a full apology to the fans of The Ohio State University. You were right and I was wrong. One thing I learned last week is that the Buckeyes are for real. Clarrett is already a star. I also want to send a heartfelt thanks to Joe Paterno and Penn State for making me look good on that prediction. That said, let's preview the Michigan State-Notre Dame game!
Only College Football Sports is proud to present this week's Top 25 Preview. Each Thursday throughout the season, Only College Football will bring you a new Top 25 preview featuring shorts on the upcoming games, team match-ups, and the prediction of our Top 25 Analyst Elijah Caswell.
#1 Miami VS Florida A&M Miami’s first game of the season should be a walk in the park. The 'Canes have faced the Division 1AA Rattlers five times in their history and have won all but the initial meeting. (The last Rattler victory was in 1979.)
Aug 22, 2002, 5:48Which conference lead the nation the last two years with a strong 8-2 bowl record? The Big XII? The SEC? Maybe the PAC-10? Nope, it was the unheralded and generally underrated Big East.
Despite the common perception that the Big East is one of the "weaker" BCS conferences, the teams of the big East have been piling up wins against strong OOC foes. BC dumped Georgia and Notre Dame last year, after a rough start Pitt knocked off NCState in their bowl, and even Syracuse got in on the action beating Auburn by 17 and ECU by a pair of TDs. Combined with Miami's dominance of the college football landscape last year, it is hard to make the case that the Big East is a "weak" conference.
After a rocky start in 2001, 5-32 against other conferences, the NCAA's
newest 1A conference would like to have a great Sophomore season.
Though its unlikely that they'll pull the big upsets on the schedule
(Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia) there are many opportunities to
make a statement (Cal, TCU, S. Florida, Kentucky, Arizona). The Blue
Raiders of Middle Tennessee look to be the conference favorites and
with 4 SEC games on the slate they have the chance to pull a major
upset or two to give the conference some national attention.
